Plug and Play Game
Two sets of architectural modules cast in the playscape of a literal digital sandbox, afford a player the ability to interact with these objects by lifting, tossing, placing, and pushing.
As combinations are made in a game with simulated physics, the modules are snapped to a 3-dimensional grid to allow for connection between these discrete objects, while allowing for a varying degree of variation caused through the placement done by a digital “hand.”
Playing the game repeatedly leads to several proto-architectural constructions. This in a way reflects an interactive game of formal generation. However, while the game produces a variety of products for investigation, architecture in the game engine might be an interesting method of sharing strategies as well. The video game as an open platform might produce additional value as other players upload their own modules into this given ruleset.
